  4. Color Composition
SPECIAL MAKE-UP

  • special make-up is a certain make-up, categorized in various types of make-up in which It is done on your face and follow the theme of conformity required. For example, special make-up I can see through my understanding namely the presence of Effect Make-Up, Straight Make-Up, Fantasy Make-Up, Corrective Make-Up, Character Make-Up and others again.

NORMAL MAKE-UP

  • In addition, it is also widely used for the benefit of the acting and entertainment.Every color and materials used in cosmetics intended for forming character of certain, for example, use dark eye shadow to give a stern character.

FANTASY MAKE-UP

FANTASY MAKE-UP
  • Fantasy makeup opens door to creating characters and characterizations for parties, as the one for carnivals, fantasy photos and magical words: Elves, fairies, and nymphs, playing with sets and accessories.
  • In this type of makeup we can imitate an image or create an image inspired by something we want to reflect. Or simply an image with a touch of fantasy, but in abstract form, having no meaning at all.
  • A good medium for presenting fantasy makeup is for photography. A beautiful fantasy makeup will be an exaggeration of beauty makeup. Slightly adorned with style and compliments such as drawings, outlines, jewel work, etc. Always try to beautify with a combination of some extraordinary decoration with the usual makeup or artistically done outlining.
  • Body makeup (also known as body painting) is fantasy makeup that is done with watercolor. It can be entirely done with watercolors, painting the entire body or combined with more a natural beauty makeup. We can use watercolor over the base of makeup, since there are an infinite amount of different colors, we can mix various color, including blending in with the skin tone
  • They way we distribute the color is very important because the intensity and brightness with emphasize the face creating volume and depth. We can do all types of harmonious unities. If we want the colors to take life and stand out more we should use contrasting colors, complimentary colors, without blending (theory of color).
  • In the world of beautiful fantasy makeup you can have complete freedom to create with colors and lines, however there may be some guidelines you may have to follow

TIPS:

  • When it's time to produce beautiful fantasy makeup we can make a mock-up on paper beforehand, to plan your results. This is where you decide the design and colors you will use. We will apply makeup adapting to the contours of the face. We will not “draw on” the face as if it is a flat one dimensional canvas. We will adapt to the face because it's about applying beauty makeup and we want to beautify the person.
  • Since we want to showcase and beautify the face with our makeup, we want to respect its natural form, emphasizing the natural points of light.
  • They way we distribute the color is very important because the intensity and brightness with emphasize the face creating volume and depth. We can do all types of harmonious unities. If we want the colors to take life and stand out more we should use contrasting colors, complimentary colors together, but without blending, for then they wouldn't be pure. Complimentary colors are those colors that seem to have nothing to do with eachother. They are very different, so when you place one next to the other, it makes each color stand out even more. This creates a very striking effect that's very indicative of fantasy makeup.
  • The outlining of the artwork plays a very important part as well. The curvatures of rounded outlines sweetens the features, exuding sensuality. This is ideal for presenting a feminine face. While on the other hand, straight and sharp lines create a more aggressive and cold.
  • Combination of colors also produce sensations. The makeup artist interprets the heart giving it color. Those colors possess their own characters transmitting warmth, coolness, tranquility, happiness, excitement, etc.
  • Fantasy beauty makeup is useful in different areas. Mainly spectaculars, theaters, carnivals, costume parties, on Halloween. In all actuality there has been a growth in use in publicity photography and in fashion runways.
  • Art and imaginations are words that describe this type of makeup. Find the perfect marriage between beauty and fantasy to display makeup that is the best and has a powerful impact.

CHARACTER MAKE-UP

CHARACTER MAKE-UP
  • When you're making an actor into another person you must alter his appearance so it fits the new character. If the character is mean, kind, fat, thin or ugly you must change the actors own features to match this.
  • To be able to do this we use a lot of different methods such as wigs, false teeth and facial prosthetics.
  • When you're doing a highlight and shadow makeup you are really just using the actors own features to alter his looks by showing and hiding things that are already there.
  • Some actor once said that all parts are an insult, because the makeup artist always bring out the "bad" bits of the face when doing a character makeup.
  • Depending on what kind of stage you are working on the makeup can differ quite a bit.
  • If you're working on a small stage you have to put on makeup which is very subtle but for a big stage it can look really grotesque in person but great on stage.
  • Character makeup can also sometimes be classical makeup's like the Peking opera masks or Japanese kabuki makeup.
  • These kinds of makeup are very hard for us to understand and do correctly because they come from thousands of years of tradition.
  • Every colour and line means as much as a whole book of knowledge.
  • All we can do is mimic or do our own interpretation which is bound to be wrong.
example of character make-up is aging make-up

corrective make-up

CORRECTIVE MAKE-UP

A basic technique for applying makeup is to emphasis the good features by highlighting and minimizing the imbalanced or not so good features, by shadowing or shading with the right combination of cosmetics colors, which is the purpose of corrective make-up.

corrective make-up tips:

What is highlighting?

  • When a lighter shade of foundation is applied on a particular area of the face, it is highlighted to focus attention.

What is shadowing or shadings?

  • When a darker shade of foundation is applied on a particular feature, it minimizes attention on that area shadowing detracts attention.

What is blending ?

  • When two shades of foundation are used they must be spread towards the required direction properly. Any demarcation line of two foundation should not be visible. Caution is the keyword while blending.

TEATER MUZIKAL “ UDA DAN DARA”

Eyeshadow – Right Selection and Right Application

FOUNDATIONS
  • When applying foundations, there are some rigid rules but when it comes to your eyes, it is your eye color that decides the creative side.
  • Your eyes are the most important part on your face. So make sure that your eye makeup techniques and choice of colors are  capable of highlighting your eye shape and color.
  • With the eye color, you can create the illusion of new shape and size.
  • Always remember that light colors can high light and dark colors can shrink the appearance. While applying eye shadow, sweep the lightest shade from the lash line to brow to cover the entire area. This shade is the base color to your eye in the same way foundation is to your face. It will hold your color and avoid creasing.

TIPS:

  • On days when you are in a hurry, just apply the base color to the eye and then finish with mascara only.
  • Once you apply the base color then apply a medium shade on the lower lid. Most women apply eye shadow in this part of the eye. Blend the shade into your base shade.
  • A third color can be added. Use of a deep dark shade will create depth. This shade should be applied along the lash line and at the outer corner of the eye giving more stress on the crease of the eye and brow bone. It should be blended well. This is your emphasizing shade and when used can create a well-defined eye. The way you apply this contour shade helps your eyes to look bigger, smaller, wider or closer. The main thing is to blend well so that all the attention is to be drawn to your eyes and not to your make up.

EYESHADOW

  • For making your eye shadow to stay as if the make up is “just applied” for hours, first base your eyelid with a shade which suits your skin color. After that apply a neutral shade or a color nearest to your skin color over the cover cream. When the powder adheres to the cream it will create a smudge resistant base for your eye shadow. It will last for a longer time.
  • Powder eye shadow can be applied wet or dry. Wet you brush or applicator and make your own eyeliner in any vibrant colors. Applying in the wet form will intensify the color.
  • Cream eye shadow can be applied as a single color or in a coordinated double color. These cream eye shadows can also be coordinated with our powder shadows.
  • This cream eye shadow can be used as an under base with a matching powder shadow as a sealant. Your fingertips are the best applicator for any cream eye shadow.

Tips:

  • When you are applying eye shadow to the crease of your eye, your eyes should be kept open and kept slightly tilted backwards. This will enable you to create a better shape.
  • For mature skin, use iridescent shade in limited quantity only.
  • If your eyelids are puffy, do not apply iridescent or frosted shades in light or white color. Use soft matte colors.

Eyeliner Application Tips

  • the tissues surrounding the eye area are very delicate, so be extra careful while selecting the pencil eyeliner to be soft enough to glide easily.
  • For make up application you need practice as well as a steady hand.
  • As the pencil eyeliners are easier to control and can give a look that you desire, it seems that they are the most popular.
  • On the other hand liquid eyeliners need more practice but it can create precise lines if applied with enough care
  • If your eyes are wide set, more stress needs to be given on the inner corners of the eye. And for eyes which are close set; stress the outer corners of the eye.
  • For drooping eyes, the outer end of the liner needs to be drawn upwards.

TIPS:

  • When you use pencil eyeliner, keep your mouth little opened in order to relax the eye muscles. This will make the lining much easier for you.
  • Apply the eyeliner in uniform thickness and as close as possible to the lashes in order to avoid the white line you may find if the liner and the lashes don’t merge.

Be sure to blend the line with a wedge sponge or Q Tip to soften. If there are dark shadows under the eyes avoid lining the bottom.
  • Begin the lash from the outer corner toward where the lashes end going towards the nose. Connect inner of eye to lash line by drawing on the inside edge of the skin. Smudge lines with a wedge sponge or Q -Tip.

  • Starting at outer corner, line lower lid under lashes. only lining one third of bottom of the eye. Smudge pencil line until just a shadow then apply mascara.

WIDE SET EYES

  • Stay away from dark colors on brow bone, which will make deep set eyes look even deeper. Stay away from eyeliner on top lids, which will sink eyes further back.
  • Line lower lid under lashes on outer one-third. Smudge pencil line to just a shadow to counter heaviness of top brow.

ROUND EYES
  • Use light colored shadow over the entire lid and a darker shade in the crease. Apply eyeliner on both the top and bottom lids, and use mascara on the upper outer lashes

EYEGLASSES
  • If you wear eyeglasses, get lenses with a no reflective glare, allowing others to see your eyes. If you have thick lenses that make your eyes look larger, go easy on the mascara; if the lenses make your eyes look smaller, be sure to line your eyes to bring them out. Your eyebrows, not your eyeglass frames, should define your face, so make sure to keep them well groomed. Are your glasses a strong color? Then keep your shadow neutral and concentrate color elsewhere on your face.

PHOTOGRAPHS

  • If you have an important event coming up, this is not the time to try something new. If you want a new look, try it out a few months ahead of time, to give you and others a chance to get used to it. To keep your eyes from fading in photographs, you want your eyebrows cleaned up, well defined and completely filled-in. The same goes for your eyelashes. Use a curler and two coats of waterproof mascara. For shadow color, don't use pink, light blue or frosts; they'll make you look tired. A natural look is your best bet. The more comfortable you feel with your eye make up, the more confident you'll be in any situation.

How to Apply Eye Makeup to Small Eyes

for those who are have bigger size of eyes, here stated the steps to get small size of eyes by applying make-up

Step 1:

  • Prepare your eyes for makeup.
  • Before applying eye makeup, eliminate any undereye swelling by applying cold compresses to your eyes for ten minutes. A package of frozen vegetables will work well for this purpose. Any fluid retention around your eyes will cause eyes to look smaller.

Step 2:
  • Begin with an undereye concealer.
  • Dark circles under the eyes can make small eyes recede even more. Always start with a light application of undereye concealer in a shade that's slightly lighter than your natural skin color. This will give the illusion of larger eyes while providing a nice base for eye your shadow.

Step 3:
  • Choose the right shade of eye shadow.
  • If you want your small eyes to pop, choose an eye shadow shade that contrasts with your eye color. If you have blue eyes, brown shades are flattering and create the kind of contrast that makes eyes look larger and more significant. Purple shades do the same for brown eyes. Never wear a shadow that's the same shade as your natural eye color and avoid choosing a shade that's too dark as this can cause small eyes to recede even more. With small eyes, you need contrast to enhance them. Apply your chosen shade of shadow to the crease of the eye after applying a lighter shade such as a champagne color to serve as a base. The light shade will help to open up the eye and will contrast well with the darker shadow.

Step 4:
  • Line your eyes carefully.
  • To make small eyes stand out more, keep your line thin and avoid uniformly lining the entire eye. This will make the eye look smaller. Keep the liner concentrated along the outer third of your eye and extend it slightly up beyond the corner to lift and open up your eyes. Avoid using a dark, overpowering shade of liner.

Step 5:

  • Curl your lashes.
  • Curling your lashes will help to further open up your eyes and make them look larger. Once this is done, apply loose powder to your lashes before applying two light coats of mascara. The powder will prevent clumping which can further overpower your eyes. Apply mascara to upper lashes only to make eyes appear larger.

Step 6:

  • For evening, you can also apply a light, shimmering shade of eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyelids. This will open up the eyes and add additional sparkle and emphasis.
